Let’s dive into the continuing topic from my last post. In my last reflection, I talked about the devil’s tactics in temptation. How he tried to convince Jesus to give up on trusting God to turn to “his own ways” to fix things, just like we usually do.
Jesus is the Son of God. However, as human, he faced all the struggles we continually battle , almost daily. However, he faced it without sin. How he did it?!
Jesus tactics:
-The first strategy of Jesus was preparation:
“Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.”
Jesus was prepared for the test. Not only because he was fasting for fourty days, but even before that, he had been boulding an intimate relationship with the Father for 30 years. He knew who he was. His first tactic to beat satan should be ours too: Preparation!
How can we start it?! Feeding our spirit with the Word of God! Daily, in every opportunity we can. Jesus was familiarized with the Scripture since he was a boy(Luke 2: 41-47) he not only studied it, he internalized it, believing he was the Son of God!
And that enabled him for the second strategy: Using his sword against the enemy! Puting into action the Word of God.
Ephesians 6:10-18 teaches us that our fight it is not against the natural world, what our eyes can see and touch, it is spiritual, against invisible forces that are acting and ruling among us. Jesus knew that, he knew how to win this battle: He had to protect himself using a spiritual sword: The Word of God.
The first step it is to spend time in the Scriptures, really dive in, renewing our minds. The second step is to put that into practice, and that is exactly what he did. He also knew every character on the scene, Satan, himself and, most important, God the Father.
And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.” 4 But he answered, “It is written,
“‘Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple 6 and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written,
“He will command his angels concerning you,’ and
“‘On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.’”
7 Jesus said to him, “Again it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’”
It is easy to trick someone who doesn’t know his/her true identity, but Jesus knew and heard from God who he trully was: His beloved son.(Mark 1:9-11) And because he knew, he trusts his Father deeply.
-That is Christ’s third strategy: An obedient faith.
Jesus was used to his Father voice, they were intimates. Since childhood we see Jesus acknowledging who his true father was. He spent a lot of time studying in the temple, but also praying and hearing God’s directions. During his ministry we will read about it many times: Jesus practicing solitude to pray and to hear his father voice.
That relationship was the most important thing in his earthly life. It was what make it possible to him to face every challenge and also, to teach, heal the sick and preach in true and boldness, with all the authority!
His faith was strong and it leaded him to obedience, during all his ministry.
“Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to him, “All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written,
“You shall worship the Lord your God
and him only shall you serve.’”
11 Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and were ministering to him.“
We can learn from Jesus strategies! It is so important to study and know deeply the Word of God, it is the only way to be protected from deceit. And if we know the truth of God’s Word, we also need to put into practice!
The Holy Spirit, who dwells in our hearts, is the one who enables us to do it. That’s why is so important to cultivate a deep, honest and daily relationship with God. He is the only One that can leads us in truth, giving us His life, thorugh Jesus!
We are not alone in our battles. If we follow the footsteps of Jesus, we will know the Father and He will gives us authority to overcome evil, every temptation that comes in our way!

Olá querido leitor! Como vai?!
Hoje, vamos mergulhar na sequência do meu último texto. Na minha última reflexão falei sobre as táticas do diabo na tentação. Como ele tentou convencer Jesus a desistir de confiar em Deus e recorrer aos “seus próprios métodos” para consertar as coisas, como costumamos fazer.
Jesus é o Filho de Deus. Porém, como humano, ele enfrentou todas as lutas que travamos continuamente, quase diariamente, mas as enfrentou sem pecado. Como ele fez isso?!
As táticas de Jesus:
-A primeira estratégia de Jesus foi a preparação:
“Então Jesus foi conduzido pelo Espírito ao deserto para ser tentado pelo diabo. Depois de jejuar quarenta dias e quarenta noites, ele estava com fome.”
Jesus estava preparado para a prova. Não só porque ele jejuou por quarenta dias, mas mesmo antes disso, ele já vinha mantendo um relacionamento íntimo com o Pai durante 30 anos. Ele sabia quem ele era. Sua primeira tática para vencer satanás deveria ser a nossa também: Preparação!
Como podemos começar?! Alimentando nosso espírito com a Palavra de Deus! Diariamente, em todas as oportunidades que pudermos. Jesus estava familiarizado com as Escrituras desde menino (Lucas 2: 41-47) ele não apenas as estudou, mas as internalizou, acreditando que era o Filho de Deus!
E isso lhe permitiu ser bem-sucedido na segunda estratégia: Usar a espada (do Espírito)contra o inimigo! Colocando em ação a Palavra de Deus.
Efésios 6:10-18 nos ensina que a nossa luta não é contra o mundo natural, aquilo que nossos olhos podem ver e tocar, ela é espiritual, contra forças espirituais que estão agindo entre nós. Jesus sabia disso, sabia que para vencer esta batalha teria que se proteger com uma espada espiritual: a Palavra de Deus.
O primeiro passo é passar um bom tempo nas Escrituras, realmente mergulhar, renovando nossas mentes. O segundo passo é colocar isso em prática, e foi exatamente isso que ele fez. Ele conhecia bem todos os personagens em cena: Satanás, ele mesmo e, o mais importante, Deus o Pai.
“E o tentador veio e disse-lhe: “Se você é o Filho de Deus, ordene que estas pedras se transformem em pães”. 4 Mas ele respondeu: “Está escrito:
“‘O homem não viverá só de pão,
mas de toda palavra que sai da boca de Deus.’”
Então o diabo o levou à cidade santa e o colocou no pináculo do templo 6 e disse-lhe: “Se você é o Filho de Deus, jogue-se no chão, pois está escrito:
“Ele dará ordens aos seus anjos a teu respeito’, e
“‘Em suas mãos eles te sustentarão,
para que você não bata o pé em alguma pedra.’”
Jesus disse-lhe: “Novamente está escrito: ‘Não colocarás o Senhor teu Deus à prova.“
É fácil enganar alguém que não conhece sua verdadeira identidade, mas Jesus sabia e ouviu de Deus quem ele realmente era: Seu filho amado. (Marcos 1:9-11). E porque ele sabia, ele confiava em seu Pai, profundamente.
-Essa é a terceira estratégia de Cristo: Confiança que leva a uma fé obediente.
Jesus estava acostumado com a voz do Pai, eles eram íntimos. Desde a infância, nós vemos Jesus reconhecendo quem foi seu verdadeiro pai. Ele passou muito tempo estudando no templo, mas também orando e ouvindo a Deus. Durante seu ministério a bíblia mostra isso muitas vezes: Jesus praticando a solidão para orar e ouvir a voz de seu pai.
Esse relacionamento foi a coisa mais importante em sua vida terrena. Foi o que lhe permitiu enfrentar todos os desafios e também, ensinar, curar os enfermos e pregar em verdade e ousadia, com toda a autoridade!
“Novamente, o diabo o levou a uma montanha muito alta e mostrou-lhe todos os reinos do mundo e sua glória. 9 E ele lhe disse: “Tudo isso eu te darei, se você se prostrar e me adorar.” 10 Então Jesus lhe disse: “Vá embora, Satanás! Pois está escrito:
“Adorarás o Senhor teu Deus
e somente a ele você servirá.’”
Então o diabo o deixou, e eis que anjos vieram e estavam ministrando a ele.”
Podemos aprender com estratégias de Jesus! É vital estudarmos e conhecermos profundamente a Palavra de Deus, essa é a única forma de estarmos protegido do engano. E se conhecemos a verdade da Palavra de Deus, também precisamos colocá-la em prática!
O Espírito Santo, que habita em nossos corações, é quem nos capacita a fazer isso. Por isso é tão importante cultivar um relacionamento profundo, honesto e diário com Deus. Ele é o único que pode nos guiar na verdade, dando-nos a Sua vida, através de Jesus!
Não estamos sozinhos em nossas batalhas. Se seguirmos os passos de Jesus, conheceremos o Pai e Ele nos dará autoridade para vencer o mal, toda tentação que surgir em nosso caminho.
Espero que isso o encoraje a lutar contra as suas próprias tentações, com a ajuda e a força do Espírito Santo.
