New beginnings

“until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high,
 and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field,
 and the fruitful field is deemed a forest.
Then justice will dwell in the wilderness,
 and righteousness abide in the fruitful field.
 And the effect of righteousness will be peace,
and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever.” Isaiah 32:15-17

I don’t know about you, dear reader, but this year feels different to me.

I know that every new year we hope for changes, for improvements and new things in our lives, right?! Still, in the majority of things we want a change, we are the responsible for it.

But this is not what I want to talk about. I want to talk about the process that God usually puts us in, when we are truly walking with Him. This process involves things we don’t want to experience: Pain, loneliness, doubt, repentance.

If you, like me, started this year longing for a change, for new things to come our way, I have to warn you: Prepare yourself for the refining fire, the wilderness that God uses to develop growth and fruits in us.

I know, I know. This is not what you were hoping to hear in the beginning of the year, but I feel God urging us to go to the wilderness with Him. To walk in deeper intimacy with His Holy Presence. We need this.

Today, I read in my devotional time a great reflection that says: “Wilderness is a RESTART BUTTON that says, ‘the life we knew is over, a new one begins!’ “

How amazing is that?! Everyone is looking forward to new beginnings, but only a few is willing to embrace this painful process that happens in the solitude of the wilderness. This is a hard truth.

I don’t know what is going on in your life right now, but maybe you are waiting a long time for a real change. Just let the fear go and walk with your heart open into this wilderness process with God. It’s going to worth it!

If we look to the history of the Israel in the bible, we will realize that they were very familiar with the desert. God always took his people there when He wanted to start something new, to give them a new perspective and a new heart. With us is no different.

I want to encourage both you and me to dive in deeply. We must think about this: What in our lives needs a restart? In what areas we need to let God gives us a new perspective?!

Let’s embrace the process and walk in the wilderness with Jesus! It’s ok, He knows the way.

“ In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea,  “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”  For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah when he said,

“The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
‘Prepare the way of the Lord;
    make his paths straight.“

“até que o Espírito seja derramado sobre nós do alto,
e o deserto se torne um campo fértil,
e o campo fértil seja considerado uma floresta.
Então a justiça habitará no deserto,
e a retidão permanecerá no campo fértil.
E o efeito da retidão será paz,
e o resultado da retidão, tranquilidade e confiança para sempre.”

Não sei sobre você, caro leitor, mas este ano parece diferente para mim.

Eu sei que a cada ano novo esperamos por mudanças, por melhorias pessoais e coisas novas em nossas vidas, certo?! Ainda assim, na maioria das coisas que queremos uma mudança, nós somos os responsáveis ​​por ela.

Mas não é sobre isso que quero falar. Quero falar sobre o processo em que Deus geralmente nos coloca, quando estamos verdadeiramente caminhando com Ele.

Este processo envolve coisas que não queremos experimentar: Dor, solidão, dúvida, arrependimento.

Se você, como eu, começou este ano ansiando por uma mudança, por coisas novas em nosso caminho, tenho que avisá-lo: Prepare-se para o fogo refinador, o deserto que Deus usa para desenvolver crescimento e frutos em nós.

Eu sei, eu sei. Não era isso que você esperava ouvir no começo do ano, mas eu sinto Deus nos incitando a ir ao deserto com Ele.

É necessário uma caminhada de uma intimidade mais profunda com Sua Presença. Nós precisamos disso.

Hoje, eu li em meu tempo devocional uma ótima reflexão que diz: “O deserto é um BOTÃO DE REINÍCIO que diz: ‘a vida que conhecíamos acabou, uma nova começa!’ “

Quão incrível é isso?! Todos estão ansiosos por novos começos, mas apenas alguns de nós estão dispostos a abraçar esse processo doloroso que acontece na solidão do deserto. Esta é uma dura verdade.

Não sei o que está acontecendo na sua vida agora, mas talvez você esteja esperando há muito tempo por uma mudança real.

Apenas deixe o medo ir, abra o seu coração para este processo no deserto com Deus. Vai valer a pena!

Se olharmos para a história de Israel na Bíblia, veremos que eles estavam muito familiarizados com o deserto. Deus sempre levava seu povo para lá quando queria começar algo novo, dar a eles uma nova perspectiva e um novo coração. Conosco não é diferente.

Quero encorajar você (e a mim mesma) a ir mais fundo. Devemos pensar sobre isso: O que em nossas vidas precisa de um recomeço? Em quais áreas precisamos deixar Deus nos dar uma nova perspectiva?!

Vamos abraçar o processo e andar no deserto com Jesus! Está tudo bem, Ele conhece o caminho.

“Naqueles dias, João Batista veio pregando no deserto da Judeia: “Arrependam-se, porque o reino dos céus está próximo.” Pois este é aquele de quem falou o profeta Isaías quando disse:

“Voz do que clama no deserto:
‘Preparem o caminho do Senhor;
endireitai as suas veredas.”
