Olá caro leitor!
Hoje quero falar um pouco sobre essa ideia de diversidade, inclusão e igualdade. Esse tópico tem se tornado ainda mais polêmico, desde que o governo dos EUA começou a questionar as políticas D.E.I(diversity, equity,inclusion) e inclusive, cortou alguns programas que dizem prezar pela inclusão dos desfavorecidos. A questão divide opiniões.
Mas o que será que a bíblia fala sobre diversidade e inclusão? Será que Deus se preocupa com os desfavorecidos do mundo?!
Se você é cristão e já leu toda a sua bíblia você sabe a resposta, certo? Espero que sim. Mas eu quero trazer aqui alguns versículos que respondem essa pergunta:
“Quando estiverem fazendo a colheita de suas lavouras e esquecerem um feixe de cereais no campo, não voltem para buscá-lo. Deixem-no para os estrangeiros, para os órfãos e para as viúvas. Então o Senhor, seu Deus, os abençoará em tudo que fizerem.”Deuteronômio 24:19
“O Senhor protege os estrangeiros e cuida dos órfãos e das viúvas, mas frustra os planos dos perversos.” Salmos 146:9
“O Senhor faz justiça e defende a causa dos oprimidos.”Salmos 103:6
Deus se preocupou tanto com a dignadade do homem, que em Genesis 1:26 Ele disse: “Façamos o homem a nossa imagem e semelhança.”
Se somos feitos à imagem de um Deus bondoso e soberano, então ele nos olha com dignadade e nos trata com justiça.
Porém, o pecado entrou no mundo e, através dele, toda desigualdade e injustiça. Quando o homem escolheu dar ouvidos à serpente, ele abriu mão de viver somente pela perspectiva e bondade de Deus, e passou a viver pela sua própria “verdade” e senso de “justiça”.
É aí que todo problema da humanidade começa.
Enquanto ideologias humanas e suas vãs filosofias dizem que o problema é o capitalismo, o racismo, o machismo etc , a bíblia diz que a raíz de todo mal é o PECADO. Todos cairam e foram destituídos da glória de Deus.
E agora? Qual a solução pra essa opressão que é a raíz de todas as outras realizadas pelo homem? Será que conseguimos trazer JUSTIÇA com as nossas prprias mãos? Romanos 5: 17 responde:
“A morte reinou sobre muitos por meio do pecado de um único homem. Ainda maior, porém, é a graça de Deus e sua dádiva de justiça, e todos que a recebem reinarão em vida por meio de um único homem, Jesus Cristo.”
Deus é tão JUSTO que trouxe a solução assim como o homem trouxe o problema: Através da figura humana de um único homem, Cristo. Se, através de Adão todos pecaram, através de Cristo todos são REDIMIDOS.
O quão incrível é isso?!
Mas e a diversidade? Como Deus trata a diferença entre homens e mulheres, entre pessoas com limitações físicas ou psicológicas? O que a bíblia diz sobre isso?
“Da mesma forma que nosso corpo tem vários membros e cada membro, uma função específica, assim é também com o corpo de Cristo. Somos membros diferentes do mesmo corpo, e todos pertencemos uns aos outros.” Romanos 12:4-5
“Existem tipos diferentes de dons espirituais, mas o mesmo Espírito é a fonte de todos eles. Existem tipos diferentes de serviço, mas o Senhor a quem servimos é o mesmo. Deus trabalha de maneiras diferentes, mas é o mesmo Deus que opera em todos nós.” 1 Coríntios 12:4-5
Deus não espera que sejamos “padronizados”. Ele nos criou com diferentes características(físicas e psicológicas) e diferentes habilidades(dons e talentos), para que com a nossa UNIDADE e comunhão, em meio a diversidade, nós cumpramos o PROPÓSITO para o qual fomos criados.
“Então Pedro respondeu: “Vejo claramente que Deus não mostra nenhum favoritismo. Em todas as nações ele aceita aqueles que o temem e fazem o que é certo. Esta é a mensagem de boas-novas para o povo de Israel: Há paz com Deus por meio de Jesus Cristo, que é Senhor de todos.”
Deus não rejeita ninguém. Ele incluiu no seu plano homens e mulheres, os pobres, os desfavorecidos, judeus e gentios e curou muitos dos que tinham deficiência. Ao longo de toda a bíblia, vemos Deus dando orientação ao seu povo, para que cuide dos orfãos e das viúvas, que se lembrem dos pobres e tratem com JUSTIÇA o estrangeiro.
Porém esssa mentalidade ideológica que vivemos hoje, infiltrada na política, na mídia e principalmente na EDUCAÇÃO, tem ensinado gerações inteiras e se enxergarem como parte de um grupo oprimido, e às vezes, como parte de um grupo opressor.
Essa mentalidade de divisão nunca trará a JUSTIÇA que a humanidade tanto anseia. Ela apenas nos divide e nos torna RIVAIS.
Sim, algumas políticas públicas são válidas, principalmente aquelas que se preocupam com os mais desfavorecidos: Os pobres e com os deficientes, que muitas vezes não conseguem seu próprio sustento. Porém, a política de diversidade tem ido longe demais e, ao invés de trazer justiça, traz confusão identitária, injustiça, indignação e muitas vezes, se baseia em discursos irracionais e antinaturais.
Em Cristo, nós já fomos feitos iguais perante Deus.
Deus celebra as diferenças, foi ele quem criou um mundo e a humanidade de forma diversa, trazendo beleza no que é diferente, de forma complementar.
Homens e mulheres são DIFERENTES, em papéis e características intrinsecas, mas IGUAIS em valor e dignidade diante de Deus e dos homens.
Deus já trouxe a SOLUÇÃO contra a opressão, que nasce do pecado. Em Cristo, somos perdoados e RECONCILIADOS com Deus.
O Reino de Deus é AMOR, JUSTIÇA e PAZ. Não de acordo com perspectivas humanas e ideológicas, mas sim de acordo com a bíblia, que é a vontade REVELADA de Deus.
A VERDADE liberta e a UNIDADE em Cristo TRANSCENDE as diferenças humanas.
Não podemos achar porém, que todos os esforços humanos são inúteis, não. Quando alinhados com a verdade da Palavra de Deus, há sim ações, leis e mudanças que trazem mais dignidade aos desfavorecidos.
Porém, quando nos distanciamos do que REAL e VERDADEIRO, nosso senso de justiça se torna EGOÍSTA e DETURPADO.
Precisamos estar enraízados na verdade se queremos fazer a diferença e amenizar as injustiças. Mas lembrando sempre que, esse mundo não é o nosso objetivo final e o mais importante, em Cristo nós já vencemos a verdadeira opressão que opera neste mundo.
“No trabalho de parto, a mulher sente dores, mas, quando o bebê nasce, sua angústia dá lugar à alegria, pois ela trouxe ao mundo uma criança. Da mesma forma, agora vocês estão tristes, mas eu os verei novamente; então se alegrarão e ninguém lhes poderá tirar essa alegria. Naquele dia, não terão necessidade de me perguntar coisa alguma. Eu lhes digo a verdade: vocês pedirão diretamente ao Pai e ele atenderá, porque pediram em meu nome(…) Eu lhes falei tudo isso para que tenham paz em mim. Aqui no mundo vocês terão aflições, mas animem-se, pois eu venci o mundo”. João 16:21-23/33
“Pois vocês não receberam um espírito que os torne, de novo, escravos medrosos, mas sim o Espírito de Deus, que os adotou como seus próprios filhos. Agora nós o chamamos “Aba, Pai”, pois o seu Espírito confirma a nosso espírito que somos filhos de Deus. Se somos seus filhos, então somos seus herdeiros e, portanto, co-herdeiros com Cristo. Se de fato participamos de seu sofrimento, participaremos também de sua glória.” Romanos 8:15-17
“Toda a criação, não por vontade própria, foi submetida por Deus a uma existência fútil, na esperança de que, com os filhos de Deus, a criação seja gloriosamente liberta da decadência que a escraviza. Pois sabemos que, até agora, toda a criação geme, como em dores de parto. E nós, os que cremos, também gememos, embora tenhamos o Espírito em nós como antecipação da glória futura...” Romanos 8:23
“Depois disso, vi uma imensa multidão, grande demais para ser contada, de todas as nações, tribos, povos e línguas, em pé diante do trono e diante do Cordeiro. Usavam vestes brancas e seguravam ramos de palmeiras. E gritavam com grande estrondo: “A salvação vem de nosso Deus,
que está sentado no trono,
e do Cordeiro!”. Apocalipse 7: 9
Assim, amigos, vemos que o plano de Dus contra toda injustiça já está em AÇÃO e o que nos aguarda, como filhos de Deus, é infinitamente melhor do que qualquer coisa que possamos alcançar neste mundo.

God, diversity and inclusion: A biblical overview.

Today I want to talk a little about this concept of diversity, inclusion and equality. This topic has become even more controversial since the US government began to question D.E.I. policies and even cut some programs that claim to value the inclusion of the disadvantaged. The issue divides opinions.
But what does the Bible say about diversity and inclusion? Does God care about the opressed of the world?!
If you are a Christian and have read your entire Bible, you know the answer, right? I hope so. But I want to bring forth some verses that answer this question:
“When you are harvesting your crops and forget a sheaf of grain in the field, do not go back to get it. Leave it for the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow. Then the Lord your God will bless you in everything you do.” Deuteronomy 24:19
“The Lord protects the foreigner and watches over the fatherless and widows, but he frustrates the plans of the wicked.” Psalm 146:9
“The Lord executes justice and defends the cause of the oppressed.” Psalm 103:6
God was so concerned about the dignity of man that in Genesis 1:26 He said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness.”
If we are made in the image of a kind and sovereign God, then He looks upon us with dignity and treats us with justice.
However, sin entered the world and, through it, all inequality and injustice. When man chose to listen to the serpent, he gave up living only by God’s standards, his perspective and goodness, and began to live by his own “truth” and sense of “justice”.
That is where all of humanity’s problems begin.
While human ideologies and their vain philosophies say that the problem is capitalism, racism, sexism, etc., the Bible says that the root of all evil is SIN. We all have fallen and fallen short of the glory of God.
What now? What is the solution to this oppression that is the root of all others carried out by man? Can we bring JUSTICE by our own means? Romans 5:17 answers it:
“Death reigned over many through the trespass of one man. But even greater is the grace of God and his gift of righteousness, and all who receive it will reign in life through this one man, Jesus Christ.”
God is so JUST that he brought the solution just as man brought the problem: Through the human figure of one man, Christ. If through Adam all sinned, through Christ all are REDEEMED.
How incredible is that?!
But what about diversity? How does God deal with the difference between men and women, between people with physical or psychological limitations? What does the Bible say about this?
“Just as our body has many members and each member has a specific function, so it is with the body of Christ. We are different members of the same body, and we all belong to one another.” Romans 12:4-5
“There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord we serve. God works in different ways, but it is the same God who works in all of us.” 1 Corinthians 12:4-5
God does not expect us to be “one size fits all.” He created us with different characteristics (physical and psychological) and different abilities (gifts and talents), so that in our UNITY and fellowship, in the midst of diversity, we fulfill the PURPOSE for which we were created.
“Then Peter answered: “I see clearly that God does not show favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right. This is the message of good news for the people of Israel: There is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.”
God does not reject anyone. He included men and women, the poor, the disadvantaged, jews and gentiles in His plan, and He healed many who had disabilities.
Throughout the Bible, we see God giving guidance to His people to care for orphans and widows, to remember the poor, and to treat the foreigner with JUSTICE.
However, this ideological mentality that we live in today, infiltrated in politics, the media, and especially in EDUCATION, has taught entire generations to see themselves as part of an oppressed group, and sometimes, as part of an oppressor group.
This mentality of division will never bring the JUSTICE that humanity always longed for. It only divides us and makes us RIVALS.
Yes, some public policies are valid, especially those that care about the most vulnerable. disadvantaged: The poor and the disabled, who often cannot provide for themselves. However, diversity policies have gone too far and, instead of bringing justice, they bring identity confusion, injustice, indignation and are often based on irrational and unnatural discourses.
In Christ, we have already been equally justified before God.
God celebrates the differences, after all, He created a world and humanity in a diverse way, bringing beauty through what is different, in a complementary way.
Men and women are DIFFERENT in their roles and intrinsic characteristics, but EQUAL in value and dignity before God and men.
God has already brought the SOLUTION against oppression, which arises from sin. In Christ, we are forgiven and RECONCILED with God.
The Kingdom of God is LOVE, JUSTICE and PEACE. Not according to human and ideological perspectives, but according to the Bible, which is the REVEALED will of God.
The TRUTH set us free and UNITY in Christ TRANSCENDS human differences.
However, we cannot think that all human efforts are useless, taht’s not the point. When aligned with the truth of the Word of God, there are actions, laws and changes that can bring more dignity to the disadvantaged.
However, when we distance ourselves from what is REAL and TRUE, our sense of justice becomes SELFISH and DISTORTED.
We need to be rooted in the truth if we want to make a difference and alleviate injustice. But always remembering that this world is not our final goal and, most importantly, in Christ we have already overcome the true oppression that operates in this world.
“In labor, a woman feels pain, but when the baby is born, her anguish gives way to joy, because she has brought a child into the world. In the same way, you are sad now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. On that day, you will no longer need to ask me anything. I tell you the truth, you will ask the Father directly and he will answer you, because you have asked in my name (…) I have told you all this, so that in me you may have peace. Here in the world you will have trouble, but take heart, for I have overcome the world.” John 16:21-23/33
“For you did not receive a spirit that makes you slaves of fear again, but you received the Spirit of God, who adopted you as his own children. Now we call him “Abba, Father,” because his Spirit confirms with our spirit that we are God’s children. And if we are his children, then we are his heirs and therefore joint heirs with Christ. If we share in his sufferings, we will also share in his glory.” Romans 8:15-17
“The whole creation was subjected by God, not willingly, to futility, in hope that with the children of God the creation will be gloriously set free from its slavery to decay. For we know that until now the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth. And we who believe also groan, although we have the Spirit within us as a foretaste of the glory that is to come…” Romans 8:23
“After this I looked, and there before me was a vast multitude, too great to count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were dressed in white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out with a loud voice: “Salvation comes from our God, who sits on the throne, and from the Lamb!” Revelation 7:9
So, friends, we see that God’s plan against all injustice is already in ACTION and what awaits us, as children of God, is infinitely better than anything we can achieve in this world.
