When vulnerability is power…

“I’ve come to knock down walls.
 The walls you have built around yourself shall crumble before me. The seemingly impossible situations that have wounded you and caused you to barricade yourself in, are nothing but paper to me. I can easily flick them away, if you’ll invite me. With me, you don’t have to fear being exposed and vulnerable. You don’t have to fear being ashamed or embarrassed.”(I hear His wispher, by Brian Simmons and Gretchen Rodriguez)

Hey friends! How are you doing?

Today, I decided to share this inspiring passage above with you because it really resonates deeply into my heart when I received it by e-mail!

I can tell that I have always been a discreet person, who did not like to share much about my life and problens. However, since God asked me to write this blog and share my experinces, I had to face the fear of being vulnerable!

I did not like the idea of being exposed and judged by my words, but I realized that there is power in my wounds and, what Jesus done in my life, He can also do in yours, and even more, when we share a testimony of His love and power!

Every time I shared my struggles with a close friend, someone I trusted, I’ve felt lighter, I’ve felt loved and understood. It is a step that requires courage but also, it is rewarding!

I used to be a person who did not trust anyone and who was always protecting myself from disappointments. However, I have to tell you the truth: It never works!

When we build a wall around us to protect ourselves from people, just because we are broken or hurted by past mistakes, the only thing we get is loneliness and an insensitive heart!

It is not a easy task to be vulnerable. But the love of God is powerful enough to turn down our walls and to heal our wounds! He does it within me, not only in the past but even now, and despite of some painful times, it is totally worth to be open for His healing touch!

Lately, I’m reading and watching a a lot of personalities sharing their broken story. How they got into the bottom and how they rised up again, to face their traumas and fears. One of the most spiring stories is from a guy that I admired since my teenages years, James Hetfield!

He is so open and humble about his failures and traumas and it is very inspiring to see how people all around the world connects with him through his life story and also throgh his lyrics! I know that I’ve always connected with his pain through his music.

Vulnerability is powerful! Even when we don’t overcome things yet, even when we are in the middle of a messy proccess. When we just open our heart and stop pretending that everything is ok, miracle things happens!

First, our openess brings healing to us, because we are bringing to the light what we hide in the darkness for so long! It is powerful when we bring things to the open, when we say it out loud. Some of them may be exposed as a lie, something that we can finally let go.

Second, people will connect with our story, they will realize they are not aolne in their struggle and neither are we. Community is a excelent way for healing. When we share our burdens and victories, we feel stronger!

Don’t resist the process that God has for you. I know that is hard and seems pointless sometimes, but He knows what is best, what we trully need to live a healthy life, a life without walls and full of trust.

Only partnership with Jesus can makes us overcome our vulnerabilities and fears to live a life of real freedom!

Invite Him to your wounded places, to your heart! And watch Him change your whole world, turning your sorrows in happiness and strength! You are not alone!

The desert and the parched land will be glad;
    the wilderness will rejoice and blossom.
Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom;
    it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy.
The glory of Lebanon will be given to it,
    the splendor of Carmel and Sharon;
they will see the glory of the Lord,
    the splendor of our God
.

3 Strengthen the feeble hands,
    steady the knees that give way;
say to those with fearful hearts,
    “Be strong, do not fear;
your God will come,
    he will come with vengeance;
with divine retribution
    he will come to save you.”

Then will the eyes of the blind be opened
    and the ears of the deaf unstopped.
Then will the lame leap like a deer,
    and the mute tongue shout for joy.
Water will gush forth in the wilderness
    and streams in the desert.
” Isaiah 35:1-6
